Among Us, the indie game that took over the internet is an example of how we can come together and bond over a sense of community.
Developed by InnerSloth and released in 2018, but didn’t gain popularity until 2020. Recently, though, it has been getting quite a lot of attention—and for good reason.
The simplicity of the gameplay allows for anyone to pick it up and start playing right away—but it also allows players to develop their own strategies and approaches to ensure victory.
Among Us is a game played with three to ten people. In each round of Among Us, there are two teams: the crewmates and the impostors. Each person will be assigned a role – either Crewmate or Impostor – when they enter a game. The Crewmates must finish their tasks and find out who the Impostors are before they get killed by the Impostors or sabotaged by them. The goal of the crewmates is to find all the impostors and eject them from the ship before they themselves are killed. Impostors’ main objective is to kill off all of their opponents before they can identify them and eject them from the ship.
If you want to play with your friends, you can go about it in two ways: using a private server or creating a party on the app that connects you with random people online. The latter can be quite fun because you get to connect and bond with people from all around the world.
As the game gains popularity, Myrtle Sarrosa, a famous Filipino cosplayer, and former Pinoy Big Brother winner, recently played Among Us. As she plays Among Us with her friends on stream, she announced that she will be giving away skins.
The announcement has been met with much fanfare as many fans are excited about the chance to win one.
